Nepal Earthquake of 2015 Discussion with Vera Schulte In-Person

April 25 was the third anniversary of the earthquake that devastated Nepal in 2015.
Dr. Vera Schulte-Pelkum, a seismologist from CU Boulder, will explain why such earthquakes happen, what makes the Himalaya particularly prone to damaging earthquakes, what we can expect in the future, show the current state of rebuilding efforts in Nepal, and give info on how you can help.

Vera has been a Nederland resident since 2002. Her research focuses on fault-zone behavior and detection of faults when they are not seismically active.
