Goldie Griffith - The Last of the Wild West Cowgirls
Come and learn the fascinating history of Goldie Griffith Cameron, presented by author Kay Turnbaugh.
Goldie Griffith was a Wild West cowgirl famous for her ability to ride broncos and rode with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. She married during a Buffalo Bill Wild West show at Madison Square Garden with a crowd of 8,000 in attendance. Goldie continued to ride horses for a variety of Wild West shows until the 1920s when she moved to the mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, where she worked on what is now the famous Caribou Ranch in Colorado, trained dogs for the war, and opened a number of restaurants and successful businesses until her death in 1976.
